Ingredients
- 0.5 cubes of yeast
- 260 ml lukewarm water
- 1.5 tablespoons sugar
- 500 g flour
- 50 ml vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons salt
- Sesame and poppy seeds or seeds, for the topping
Instructions
Dissolve the yeast in 3-4 tablespoons of lukewarm water, then add 0.5 tablespoon of sugar and dissolve it too. Sift the flour into a bowl, make a small well and add the yeast mixture. Add a little flour to the yeast mixture and cover and leave to rise for about 15 minutes. Cover the yeast with flour, add the remaining water, oil and salt and knead everything together for 5 minutes. Cover the dough with a kitchen towel and leave to rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180 °C 4D hot air. Alternatively, preheat the oven to 180 °C top/bottom heat. Line the baking tray with baking paper. Divide the dough into seven pieces of 110 g each. Shape each piece of dough into a bagel and place on the baking tray, leave to rise for 15 minutes. Bring the water and 1 tablespoon of sugar to the boil in a large saucepan. Turn the heat down so that the water is just simmering. Put the bagels in the sugar water and remove after 30 seconds. Sprinkle with sesame seeds, poppy seeds or seeds and bake in the oven with the addition of steam on level 2 for 25 minutes. Alternatively, bake in a hot oven for approx. 25 minutes.
